The latest trend in the fashion industry would have to be monogramming your clothes. We’re not talking about how your mum used to iron on the sticky name labels to your clothes to avoid the sibling fight over who owns what. We are talking about taking your own name (or your partners last name, here’s looking at you Beyonce) and adding it to your shirt. Preferably to the back, similar to a footy player.
Gigi Hadid has almost cultivated the monogramming clothes trend starting with her outfit at the Much Music Video Awards in 2015 and recently again in a street style shot wearing a denim shirt and jeans. She’s also not shy of putting her boyfriend Zayn Malik’s name on her ensembles stepping out at LAX airport in a black bomber jacker with his name written in arabic. She’s also sported a cute tee shirt with the slogan “You’re not Zayn Malik” for a night out on the town.
Check out the images below and if you’re not quite ready to tag your name on your clothes check out the latest arrival from Double Trouble with their collection of jumpers and tees with cute slogans.

So what is the latest fashion trend Lampshading and does it have anything to do with interior design? Let’s start from the beginning.
Recently Khloe Kardashian put stylist Monica Rose on the map in a tell all interview saying that most stylists turned her away when she was larger. All except Monica Rose. In usual form anything to come from a Kardashian’s mouth is to be fully investigated and much stalking later found Monica to be behind many fashion trends lately (thanks to her clients, Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and the rest of the Kardashians).
One of the most recent was termed ‘Lampshading’. Basically the outfit consists of an oversized jumper and thigh high boots. Preferably Stuart Weitzman, sigh. It all started in December 2015 during NY Winter which is why come our Aussie Winter we are catching on just now.
Check out some lampshading ladies below. Will you be lampshading this winter?
PS If you want to ease into this trend try thigh high boots with a jumper dress like the Zulu and Zephyr Base Line Jumper Dress in store and online now.
