New York Fashion Week 2018 has come and gone and we’re dreaming about our favourite trends from the runway this season. This season was exciting and bold, filled with bright colours and statement prints. We also welcomed back some retro trends this season, including colourful tights and two-toned colour blocked items.
We recap 6 of the best trends from 2018 New York Fashion Week runway.
First it was neon (still going strong) but if you haven't yet acquired the vibrant taste tone it down with a marigold outfit. A sunny yellow is the "it colour" of Summer 2019. Check out the "Boss" Collection below.
We’ve seen plaid prints featured on blazers and tailored pants in Winter and it’s here to stay. Colourful, oversized and micro plaid prints cluttered the runways. We’re expecting plaid is going to replace our stripe obsession.
Sheer is here for Summer 2019
Beautiful sheer dresses and lace graced the NYFW runways this season. Be prepared to show some skin this summer, in a tasteful and elegant way. Alternatively netted pieces overlaid onto your summer outfit have featured on the Area Runway. Check it out below.
If bold animal prints aren't your thing, maybe the polka-dot phenomenon will be! Many designers incorporated polka dots of all sizes into their looks this season. Polka dots are timeless and classic, ensuring they’ll be a staple in your wardrobe for seasons to come.
Clashing Prints in Summer 2019
We love the retro take on prints from Calvin Klein at NYFW 2019. He featured an old school Jaws singlet teamed with Leopard Print. Check it out below.
Yep you heard it, get ready for tie dye. They might bring back some childhood memories of creating your own DIY tie dye tees. If you need to see it to believe it, Kaia Gerber rocked the R13 runway this NYFW below.
